This section is available to pass along information to the Rifle Team, and other interested Club members, regarding matches and other activities associated with our participation in both the Chico Rod and Gun Club and the Buttes Rifle League (see below for more on the BRL). Our regular shooting nights are Thursdays (Oct-Mar). We continue to start the first relay at 6:30 PM; due to 9:00 PM closure, in effect until April. The BRL program uses 1 hour relays, in the event problems arise we will begin earlier. F Class Rifle will be fire Tuesday afternoons, 1 pm to 4 pm. Contact us for details. Practice times are on a space available basis, on Tuesday nights (during the Jr Rifle sessions) or other times that may be scheduled within the master Club Calendar. Chico Jr. League and Safety Classes

This page will be available to pass along information to the Jr. League Team, and other interested club members, regarding activities of the team. Our program is an NRA Affiliated Junior Marksmanship Training and Qualification Course. Membership in the Chico Rod and Gun Club and parental permission are required to participate.
Jr. Membership and successful completion of our Safety Program (or other NRA approved class).
Returning shooters will have first priority for 23/24 signups. Please contact us regarding whether or not you plan to sign up for the 23/24 season. We will save relay space for you before opening up signups to new shooters.
Classes will be at Chico Rod and Gun Club upper Bidwell Park (1456 Upper Park Road), the first and second Tuesday in October.
NRA Junior Range Indoor Safety Course for the new season:
Basic Range Safety CLASS – Tuesday, October 3, 7:00 pm
New shooters will be required to take our range safety course. The course will be offered in the club room. Course materials can be made available digitally on request.
Basic Range Safety TEST – Tuesday, October 10, 7:00 pm
New participants will be required to pass our range safety test. The test will be offered in the club room. The test can be made available digitally on request.
Other prospective participants that can document successful completion of the Paradise Rod and Gun Club Jr. Program, or other similar program, will be excused from this class. Failure to pass our course or provide valid proof of completion for a similar class will preclude participation in League. Please contact us for information packet.
Relay Assignments and Squadding – Tuesday, October 17
New and returning members will be assigned relays and fitted for equipment on this date. Prior to this date, please let us know your first AND second choice relay time:

Practice Shoot – Tuesday, October 24
New and returning shooters will have an opportunity for a non-scored “practice” match on this date to test equipment, jackets, etc. before the first scored shoot of the season.
Season begins Tuesday, November 7! We will take Halloween off (Tuesday Oct.31)
The Club supplies necessary equipment for the participants. Participants provide their own hearing & eye protection (req’d).
22/23 Season Awards
Returning members that missing the Award Presentation at the end of last season may pick up their awards at the beginning of the upcoming season.
